Mucura Hotel & Spa

I was here for 2 nights. Outstanding staff. My Spanish is not proficient enough for this area, but they still made every attempt to communicate with me and attend to my needs. A special thank you to the manager who helped me book the 4 island tour, and to Luis (?), the staff member I spoke to as I was leaving. Also the rest of the staff were lovely too. I cannot praise them enough. They represented Cartagena well! The room was very suitable for the two nights I stayed. Very clean, and the bed was huge and comfortable. I gave feedback regarding the tap in the bathroom which didn’t have a strong flow, but otherwise the room met my needs for the length of my stay. It was very humid at the time, and the aircon was perfect. I turned it off at night as I cannot sleep with it on. Breakfast was lovely. Thank you to the chefs! ❤️ The location itself is perfect and in a beautiful neighbourhood. A 10 min walk to the airport, which I did, 5-10 mins walk to the beachfront, 10-15 mins to El Centro by taxi - I loved the accessibility of it. I wish I had more time to explore the local area.

Excellent hotel, especially good value for your money in Cartagena. Since Cartagena is a tourist hotspot, some of the hotel prices in the more tourist zone were too exaggerated. Hotel Mucura has all the essentials that you need. Definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was perfect for us since we spent most of the day outside the hotel and only returned to the hotel to sleep. It is a very quiet hotel at night. Very close to the airport. You can walk to and from the airport. It's only 4 blocks away. We walked with our carry on luggage and backpacks at midnight and the neighborhood seemed safe enough. Transportation (Uber) from the tourist zone of Bocagrande to the hotel is about US$3 to $4 max. If you want to rent a car in Cartagena, the rental company Localiza is just in front of the airport. One day with an economy (basic) car (Suzuki S-presso) with full insurance came out to US$38 aprox. Driving in Cartagena can be very chaotic with lots of motorcycles everywhere. Definitely need to have "nerves of steel" to drive there :-) . The hotel has a small garage of its own.

The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I had a excellent experience in Mucura. The breakfast was delicious and the people in the kitchen are very nice, the bed was wonderful after a long flight, they have coffee and tea free 24 hours and very nice hot tub. The location is near to the airport and 10 minutes from the wall city.

The staff was super helpful and the young man at reception spoke the best English I’ve heard so far I’m Cartagena. The room was spotlessly clean. Great area if you have a flight early in the morning, you can literally walk to the airport in less than 5mn. The area is real safe too, can walk late at night (female alone) with plenty of options to eat at walking distance. They offer massage service at a fairly cheap price which I tried.

The staff was lovely and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and it was located in a quiet neighborhood. I only stated there for one night because I had an early flight, so I think it’s a good affordable option to stay close to the airport.
